About
This antique Chinese wedding cabinet originates from Manchuria, China, and was traditionally known as a “Kang Piano”, designed to be placed atop the Kang – a large, heated bed common in northern China. The Kang Piano was an extremely popular piece of furniture in Manchuria for over two thousand years, but production ceased around the mid-20th century due to the influences of modernisation and changing societal needs.
