About
The beautiful original 2 door cabinet has been restored. There was a door on top which has been sealed for modern use when during the restoration. This piece has not been relacquered. It keeps its original traditional whitewash beauty and hand-painted peonies & roses were hand-painted on the doors. The Peony once was the national flower of the later Qing Dynasty (1636-1912 A.D), symbolising ‘riches and honour’. The rose surprisingly by Chinese literature represents ‘the pride, the chivalry, the warrior’. This gorgeous piece was acquired from a rural area of Tsingtao, the east coast of China. It could be used by a country landlord.
