Description

About
The Peonies and lotuses were hand-painted on the doors of this sideboard. The Peony once was the national flower of the later Qing Dynasty (1636-1912 A.D). With its symbolical meaning of ‘riches and honour’ this gorgeous piece conveys a nobility appearance. The Lotus symbolizes the holy seat of Buddha. Because the lotus rises from the mud and blooms in exquisite beauty it symbolizes perfection and purity of both the heart and mind. eThe sideboard was originally used as a rice storage trunk by a big family in the West of China. After restoration it was converted as a 4 door Cabinet. The furniture has been re-lacquered to its old days’ glory.
