Description

About
The Peonies, which was hand-painted on the doors of this sideboard, once was the national flower of the later Qing Dynasty (1636-1912 A.D). With its symbolical meaning of ‘riches and honour’ this gorgeous piece conveys a nobility appearance. The sideboard was originally used as a rice storage trunk by a big family in the West of China. After restoration it was converted as a 2 door Cabinet but still retains an original feature which allows you to open the 2 lids from the top of the trunk. There is an aging crack on the left front door which doest weaken its beauty but has added a sense of aesthetic touch to the piece. The furniture has been re-lacquered to its old days’ glory.
