Description
About
A rare acquisition. A prestige Qing Dynasty wine table with rounded legs fitting through a carved apron and spandrels on each side into an overhanging top surface. The style is instantly recognisable as Chinese, with this type of table shown in woodblock prints illustrating Chinese literature from the Ming dynasty and continued to be seen today. Like much of the better quality furniture produced in Shanxi province, the table is in elmwood, beautifully finished in a dark wood stain and varnish. The minimalist, simple style highlights the character of the wood and makes this table a unique collection for any interior.
